We're going to watch the video "Across the Creek" in class on Friday.

We have talked about culture being defined as our family structure, religion/spirituality,values/beliefs, and so on. This video talks about the need for all people to know about these things, to know "where they come from", in order to move into the future.

Broken by the legacy of colonialism, the Lakota Tribes struggle for restoration, healing and rebuilding. This film is a conversation between the elder and younger generations about reclaiming their stories and culture. By looking at the family structure, spirituality, language and values, they hope to build a vision for the future.
