We will begin class with a brief update on your "Where I'm From" poems that are due today at 10 AM.
Our discussion today will revolve around a world clock and a video clip about the son of a terrorist who chose a different path. Tomorrow is the anniversary of 9/11 so it's particularly appropriate for this week.

Assignments for Friday, Sept 12:
Assignment #1: On page 31 of your text, there is an exercise you are required to complete - Exercise 2. Your findings can be hand written on a piece of paper for us to share in class on Friday. You can Google your first name, ask family members about why you were given this name, and so on.
Assignment #2: Enter your zip code into the website below:

Print the sheet that gives the demographics of your home zip code. Bring it to class on Friday so we can do some comparisons.
