Today we'll begin class with a short introduction from Anita Charging, one of the counselors on campus. Each one of the counselors is assigned to a particular department and we are fortunate to have Anita as ours. She wants to simply touch bases with you and let you know where her office is located and what services her department provides.
We will then move into a discussion about the definition of culture and why, as future educators, we need to be aware of what culture is and the role of it in education.
Assignment for Friday, August 30:
Your "Where I'm From" poem is due to be shared on Friday in class. I am also asking you to send me a copy of it as a Word document attached to an email. My email address (per your syllabus) is lazure@uttc.edu.
